About CNMIWL

The CNMI Weightlifting is responsible for the promotion of the sport of weightlifting in the Northern Mariana Islands. It competes in regional and international competitions such as Micronesian Games, Pacific Mini Games, Pacific Games, Oceania Junior and Senior Championships, and World Championships. For the past decade, the CNMI Weightlifting has consistently delivered medals for the NMI with its best showing coming from the 2022 Pacific Mini Games where its racked up 11 gold medals, 10 silvers, and 2 bronzes. In 2024, the CNMI Weightlifting made history when it sent Leowell Cristobal to Bahrain to compete in the World Championships and become the first weightlifter from the NMI to step on the world stage.
